Pool decks present unique challenges that not every paver contractor understands. The surface needs to be slip-resistant when wet, cool enough to walk on barefoot in July, resistant to pool chemicals, and graded so water flows away from the pool — not into it. We start every pool deck project with a careful evaluation of your pool's layout, the existing surface (whether it's bare ground, old concrete, or deteriorating pavers), and your drainage situation. In Florida, pool decks take a beating from afternoon thunderstorms, chlorinated splash-out, and relentless UV — so material selection matters enormously. We steer pool deck clients toward tumbled travertine, textured concrete pavers, or specific porcelain tiles that naturally stay cooler underfoot and provide excellent wet-grip. Light colors reflect more heat, which is why you'll rarely see us install dark pavers around a pool.

Coping — the cap that edges the pool itself — is integrated seamlessly into our paver work. We match or contrast coping material with the deck pavers to create a cohesive, finished look. Proper slope is critical: we grade the deck so rain and splash water flows away from the pool edge and toward designated drainage points, preventing puddles that create slipping hazards.
